Safety and Protection program
You have a right to feel safe in your family, relationship and home. Our Safety program supports you if you are experiencing family or intimate partner violence. We provide education, counselling and practical resources to help you deal with the effects of violence on you and your tamariki. We guide you through your options, support your choices and help to manage your safety.

- The first step is to complete the short referral form on our website and submit it to us. You can also call or email us.
- We will assess the urgency of your enquiry.
- We will let you know when you have been allocated to one of our counsellors and they will contact you to make your first appointment.
- At this appointment, you will be asked to read and sign our health and safety and complaints policy, to help keep you safe.
- We will also ask if you have any cultural needs or preferences or require any additional help in your program, such as a support person or interpreter.
- We will want to get to know you and for the first 3-4 sessions we will be asking about your background and life experiences.
- Then we’ll set some goals with you about what you want to achieve in the program.
- The program sessions with your counsellor will work towards these goals.
- Towards the end we will recap on the Program and ensure your Safety Plan is up to date.
