Are you in immediate danger?

Our partners

We work closely with the family violence support community including Women’s Refuge, A Safe Kapiti and many local health and support organisations. We are also accredited to provide family violence services by the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Development and Department of Corrections. These services are provided free of charge.

Kapiti Women’s Centre

The Kapiti Women’s Centre is a feminist organisation which promotes the physical, mental and spiritual well being of women on the Kapiti Coast. It also provides the Women’s Refuge in Kapiti.

The Centre is a partner with Kapiti Living Without Violence in the co-ordination of family violence agency responses across the region.

A Safe Kapiti

A Safe Kapiti recognises the importance of “early intervention” as a means to prevent children and young people drifting into crime at an older age. It places a strong emphasis on working with young people, children and their families to focus on fostering greater resiliency through the protective factors of family, education, community and peers.

A Safe Kapiti is a partner with Kapiti Living Without Violence in the co-ordination of family violence agency responses across the region.

Citizens Advice Bureau, (CAB) Ōtaki

CAB provide free, confidential, independent information and advice to anyone. They help people, know what their rights are, and how to access services they need.

CAB Ōtaki provides space in their community hub for Kapiti Living Without Violence to deliver outreach counselling services in Ōtaki.

Unified Community Response to Family Violence

Kapiti Living Without Violence is part of the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke initiative – a comprehensive safety response that unites various family harm services in stopping family violence. Working together, these services co-ordinate responses to family violence, manage risks and ensure supports are in place for people impacted by family violence. Supported by funding from the Ministry of Social Development, this initiative is key to addressing and helping to prevent family violence in our community.
