What is family violence?
Family violence is when a person harms or controls a family member, or someone they’re in a family relationship with. The harm or control can be physical, emotional, psychological, financial, sexual, or a combination of these.

You may be experiencing cost of living pressures, housing stress or struggling with your mental and physical wellbeing. We can help you manage these pressures.
Who do we help?
We help people from all walks of life. There are no barriers to accessing our support services and programs. We help people with a variety of backgrounds and challenges.
How do we help?
We provide change programs that help you stop the violence, whether you are using violence against someone, or experiencing it from another person. We also offer free counselling for couples.

Do I need Help?
Sometimes it can be hard to know if you’re experiencing family violence. This checklist will help you identify if you need to seek help. These are the warning signs that family violence is happening.
In your family environment are you experiencing someone who:
- Makes you do what they say
- Makes you feel guilty when you don’t do what they say
- Pressures you into unwanted sexual contact
- Controls your money and finances
- Goes through your phone or social media
- Controls who you can see, including family and or friends
- Is damaging your home environment, e.g. punching holes in walls
- Threatening you or people around you
- Threatening to kill or harm you, someone else, or your pets
- Is physically hurting you
- Is threatening to harm themselves
- Puts their hands around your neck
- Stalks you
Call the police immediately on 111 if a person puts their hands around your neck, is stalking you or is threatening to harm or kill you.
