Kapiti Living Without Violence (KLWV) provides individual and group violence prevention programmes for men, women and youth on the Kapiti Coast.  Violence can be sexual, physical, mental, emotional and verbal abuse. Our programmes provide people with the tools to live a violent free lifestyle by supporting people to change their attitudes, underlying beliefs and behaviours.  Programme participants learn how to gain control of their actions in a way that is respectful to themselves and others.

We also work to raise public awareness and collaborate with other agencies to reduce violence in the community.

It can be difficult to face your own violent behavior - but you can choose to change how you deal with your emotions and bring about long-term positive changes.   We believe in the ability of all people to make the necessary changes that will allow their partners, children and families to live free from violence and abuse.

Kapiti Living Without Violence originated in 1989 under the name of Kapiti Coast Men For Non-Violence. We are a registered Charitable Trust with the aim to provide educational and counselling services to stop or prevent violence within family/whanau and the wider community.

Our Vision: All People of the Kapiti region living safe and respectful relationships within families and communities.

Our Mission: Kapiti Living Without Violence promotes, supports and nurtures non-violent relationships for self, whanau and community. KLWV has 8 part-time staff and 5 Trust board members. Our staff are highly trained and experienced in the latest violence prevention services. We are a member of the National Network of Stopping Violence Services (Te Kupenga Whakaoti Mahi Patunga) and Voices Against Violence (an interagency collective of organisations that work collaboratively to reduce violence in the Kapiti Community).
